Col 2:11:
"In whom also
ye
are circumcised
with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of
the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him
in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God,
who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And
you
, being dead in your sins
and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses;"
Body, Soul and Spirit: In the above verse the "
ye
" and "
you
"
refers to the Soul, the body is clearly the flesh, and the "he" and "him" refers to God the Holy spirit.
When a Christian gets saved (born again), the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, a "Spirit Baptism", takes place, where the Holy Spirit, by the operation of God, performs
a Spiritual Circumcision (Col 2-11), where his sinful flesh is cut loose from his saved soul and his reborn spirit (Heb 4:12).
The "Twice Married Woman" in Romans (7:1-4) also clearly reveals this doctrine. Our soul is likened to a married woman, and our fleshly body
is likened to her husband. While the husband is alive, she is bound to her husband by the law. When being born again, The holy spirit slays the
old husband (flesh body), and she is free to marry someone else (so she is not an adulterer), and she (the soul) marries Jesus Christ
(Holy Spirit). He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit. So now the soul is saved and sinless (1st John 3:9) regarding salvation
and eternal security, and no longer subject to the law, but rather under grace. However, the flesh body, now cut free, is still subject to the law.
When a Christian sins, he reaps it in his flesh body. Sin bears a price. God chastens his children, so un-confessed sins allow the "tormentors", devils, demons,
evil spirits, powers, etc, to have access to the believers body. When the Holy spirit performed this operation "made without hands", this sanctification and separation keeps the Holy Spirit and
the devils apart. Until the devils are thrown out by Deliverance, they will produce sickness, torment, drive and harass the Christians body.
Read below for the Scriptures.
1 John 3:9
"Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."
Rom 7:1-4:
"Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress,
though she be married to another man.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be
married
to another,
even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God."
Spiritual
Circumcision - Col 2:11
Lev 22:4-6
"What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean.
And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;
The
soul
which hath
touched
any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water."
Unsaved people
have sin in and on them, and have their souls stuck to their flesh. In the Old Testament when
someone touched an unclean thing, not only their flesh, but their soul
had sinned (Lev 22:4-6). They had sin in their flesh and sin on
their soul, as they were stuck together.
They were required to have a blood sacrifice for their soul to be
cleansed. Unsaved people today are like that. The devils that are in unsaved people are where the sin is -
in their flesh and their soul, as the flesh and soul are joined. The
unsaved people, without hope and without Christ, have no authority to
get rid of the devils. No Jesus - no deliverance.
Watch Dr Ruckman literally "draw it out" for you in the video below as he teaches on the 3 part being - Body, Soul and Spirit, At the 36:30 minute mark he explains what happens when we get saved and also draws out spiritual circumcision with the "ice tray" example:
Saved people only have sin in them (Christ has their sins on Him), and do not
have their souls stuck to their flesh. Saved people are spiritually
Circumcised at the very instant they accept Jesus Christ. Then they are
members of Christ's body, joined to the Lord as the Holy Spirit came
and cut (circumcised) the flesh from the soul and spirit. Therefore the
Holy spirit does not touch the "unclean thing" as the flesh and soul are
separated. The blood sacrifice for our sins has
been paid for by Jesus Christ's one time sacrifice on the cross. The
devils that are in saved people only affect the flesh, not the soul as
they are cut apart, but the devils will imitate the soul as they manifest and produce thoughts, feelings and various emotions in order to torment, drive and harass us. Being saved, we may and should cast out devils from our flesh
in Jesus name, which has authority over the devils.
Our Soul gets saved, our Spirit gets reborn, and our flesh is dead in Sin
Heb 4:12
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart"
The two edged sword "cut", the piercing and the dividing (for the spiritual circumcision) is where the comma is: after the " soul and spirit" , and before "and of the joints and marrow".
The "joints and marrow" are clearly not divided from each other, so it's clear and obvious that the "spirit and soul" aren't either.
It's right here in plain English. Also, it is sad to note that the fake "bibles" have altered this text, and have blinded many Christians from seeing this essential doctrinal truth.
At the new birth, our spirit and soul are DIVIDED from our flesh (joints and marrow),
and our spirit and soul are ADDED to the Holy Spirit (he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit).
Now, this seems obvious
to the Bible believer, but there are Christians that are not seeing this truth, and they believe that the cut in Heb 4:12 is
between the Spirit and the Soul/Flesh and in this private interpretation these people assume that the devils are in both the
flesh and soul, as it was under the law in the Old Testament, and as it is with unsaved people presently.
It is plain to see that Jesse Penn Lewis was deeply influenced by the Revised Version "bible" and the commentators when attempting to understand biblical doctrines, such as the
Bible Doctrine of the three part being of man
before and after the new birth.
The scholars that edited all the various fake "bibles" have messed with bible verses dealing with many Bible doctrines, and by doing so, they destroyed scripture to scripture cross references that God uses
to reveal His truths to His children who believes what He says, and yet also to confound and blind these truths to those who do not believe what He says. In the example from Jesse's book up above, it is sad to see that even a minor alteration
as presented in the Revised Version reading of Heb 4:12, was enough of a satanic influence to corrupt the beliefs of many Christians.
This example shows how the Revised Version reading of Heb 4:12 and the commentators have influenced Jesse Penn Lewis, and how it prevented her from understanding what the real Bible said
and comparing scripture with scripture:
Col 2:11, Heb 4:12, and the twice married woman in Rom 7:1-4.
Examine the book "Spirit And Soul" by Jesse Penn Lewis, page 27, as Jesse quotes Pember and Fausset.
Pember writes "claims for the Word of God, the power of separating, and, as it were, taking to pieces, the whole being of man, spiritual, psychic (soulish), and corporeal,
even as the priest flayed and divided limb from limb the animal for the burnt offering...". Permber missed the proper division and just states that all three are divided.
Faucet writes:"The Word of God divides the closely joined parts of man's immaterial being, soul and spirit...". Faucet missed the proper division and mistakenly states the wrong division of soul and spirit,
regardless of Col 2:11.
In reading the page from the book above, it is sad that the scholars and the commentators, along with their corrupted fake "bible" - the Revised Version, have assisted in blocking a great saint like
Jesse Penn Lewis from understanding this doctrine. In this case, it is the classic Alexandrian error of confusing Old Testament Salvation with New Testament Salvation, and they actually believe that they are the same!
They are different. Old Testament Saints did NOT get the new birth, and so were NOT Spiritually Circumcised, so Old Testament Saints had their souls stuck to their bodies.
Old Testament Saints did not even go to Heaven at death -
Old Testament Saints went to Abraham's Bosom. So, in this case, they falsely believe that the New Testament Saints soul is still stuck to the flesh, as it is with Old Testament Saints.
It is ridiculous to even consider that God would want to DIVIDE our soul from our spirit after He had just JOINED together our soul to the Holy Spirit (Jesus Christ) by marriage
at the time of the new birth! Rom 7:1-4. Also, consider the fact that at the time of the new birth the person being saved had a DEAD spirit that needed to be born again, so then why would God divide a dead spirit
from a soul when he was going to give life to the spirit?
Before being born again the soul wasn't even stuck to the dead spirit, so how can something be divided that was not even stuck together in the first place?!
Consider this: since spirit is likened to wind, or air (John chapter 3), how would God divide a born again quickened spirit from the Christians saved soul? It would be the opposite of inflating air in a tire, so God would have to suck out the air
(the spirit) from the soul and create a spiritual vacuum! This is ironically the OPPOSITE of being filled with the spirit!
Even minor edits like deleting the word "asunder", or changing the word "and" to "both", along with believing the Alexandrian commentators, have apparently been enough for God to know that Jesse believed these scholars
instead of her believing what God actually said in the real Bible, so He blinded her from knowing and understanding the truth about this doctrine.
With these quotes it is plain to see what Dr Peter Ruckman has stated, that all the commentators have missed the Biblical doctrine of Spiritual Circumcision.
They don't teach it even today in the universities because they don't believe the Book (the King James Bible) so God slams the door of revelation shut for them and blinds their understanding.
Listen to the first 2 1/2 minutes of Dr Ruckmans commentary on Rom 7: 1-4 explaining spiritual circumcision, and how and why the revisers and scholars missed it!
Dr Ruckman - RARE Romans Study #19 Romans 7:3 - 7:20
Col 2:11
"In whom also ye are circumcised
with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of
the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him
in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God,
who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins
and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses;"
Devils, or evil spirits, dwell in our flesh, but the
Holy
Spirit does not (Rom 7:17-18).
As
Christians we are spiritually circumcised (Col 2:11-13 circumcision
without hands)
so our spirit and soul is cut loose and free from our flesh (Heb 4:12), and our spirit joins to the Holy Spirit.
So when we saved people sin we have sin in us (fleshly body),
but not on us (our saved Soul), as Jesus took our sins on Him for us.
Examine the 3 Crosses below, and watch the Dr Ruckman video clip below teaching about Sin "IN and ON" us:
Unsaved people trusted in their own righteousness so they have sin in and on them, and the wages of sin is death, so without God's son they go to Hell. With us, being saved, our
flesh sins so this
is where the "Old Man" - the (d)evil spirits dwell. We "drive them out of the land." Old testament saints
did not have the new birth and spiritual circumcision so when
their flesh sinned, (Lev
22:4-6) their soul sinned, and the Holy Spirit could not
abide in their bodies. This is the same now in this age with the
unsaved - when they (their flesh) sin so does their connected soul sin,
as they are a PART of their sins, and are called by the name of their
sins (1Cor 6:9).
We as Christians can certainly commit every sin that
is listed in Rev 21:8
and Gal 5:19-21.
For example, a Christian (he is his saved Soul (
1st John 3:9
)) is not
a Liar, or Murderer, or whatever sin committed in the list - but his
FLESH is. When a sin is committed, we confess our sins (1John 1:9)
for
forgiveness to stay in fellowship with our heavenly Father so He won't
have to spank (chastise), plus we don't as Christians want any
unconfessed sin to show up at the Judgement Seat Of Christ. We, being
saved, have a live spirit and soul, but our
flesh is reckoned dead and crucified with Christ. Being cut free, our
soul does not sin, and our spirit is sealed with the Holy Spirit for our
eternal security as we will be presented sinless to the Father when we
die, as Jesus paid our debt. The part of us that is born of God, the
New Man, does not sin (1John
3:6,9), but the Old Nature, or old Man in the flesh that
is subject to the Devil does sin (Rom
7:17-20).
So therefore it is a good idea to confess our sins (right after we realize that we sinned against God) to our
Heavenly Father in Jesus name and then throw the devils out of ourselves
in the name of Jesus. Now, committing a sin does not automatically bring in a devil, just in case one got in, it is worth praying it out.
These devils are like flies, if I leave the door open flies will start to come in!
Devils (Demons) & The Effect Of Spiritual
Circumcision Of Christians
Two great analogies for understanding our spiritual circumcision in relationship to our 3 part being (body, soul and spirit) are:
1) Football: the outer pigskin represents the fleshly body, the inner tube represents the soul (inner tube has the same shape as the outer pigskin) and the air filled inside represents our spirit. A Saved person has a reborn spirit so it is like a football that is filled with air. An unsaved person is like a flat football - it needs air! An unsaved person is dead in trespasses and sin (since Adams fall he has had a dead spirit), and needs a new birth. As God breathed into Adam, so we need to be born again for our spirit to be quickened alive.
2) Ice Cube Tray: H2o, water represents the Soul and Water, and the tray represents the body. An unsaved person has their body (tray) stuck to their Soul (ice water), while a saved person is like the tray was flexed (circumcised) and the ice cubes broke free of the tray - but they are still in the tray - just not stuck to it! Our Souls are still in our bodies but we are not stuck to them!
Things You Can Lose - Christian! by Dr Ruckman
Eternal
Security and What
We Can Lose
We cannot lose our salvation being a part of the
BODY of Jesus Christ (Eph
5:30, 1Cor
12:13), after being sealed into it permanently by the Holy
Spirit (Eph 4:30),
but there
are things we can lose with unconfessed sin, such as our health, peace,
finances, family, etc. We may also lose rewards at the Judgement Seat
Of Christ. Unconfessed sin opens the door for devils to
steal, kill and destroy. These devils can come into our flesh when we
sin, and quite possibly enter us through frequencies that
pass
through us as in radio waves (also microwaves - cell phones and towers)
and the like. So it is good to throw
(cast) them out daily. The evil spirits tempt people to sin by being in
the brain and talking (putting voices) in peoples heads and tricking
the victims to think that they themselves were creating the voice they
heard. They hate us because we Christians are reborn in God's
image (losing Adam's image) and because of Jesus's sacrifice in place
of us they hate
us as they are without hope.
They have "legal rights" to harass us as we are all sinners when we
break God's laws (sin), and because we have sinned and not confessed to
God, these devils that torment us
don't have to leave until we do confess our sins.
There are also devils that have no right to be in a person and can be
just outright cast out easily, as they entered in to the body by some
other way other than sin. Devils can enter also through frequencies
that go through our flesh with devils traveling along them and through
us as with microwave mind control.
Rom
7:20
"Now I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me,"
Rom 7:24
"O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver
me from the
body of this death?"
When we Christians got saved our flesh was cut free, but the soul has a bodily shape: read the "rich man and Lazarus" Luke 16:23-24, in
Hell the rich man's soul has a bodily shape as he has eyes and a tongue. So the Authorized Bible tells us that is not as the
Greeks thought: a "golf ball"). The Bible truth is the Soul has the same shape as the body, not an unlike shape of a ball!
We should decrease, and He should increase,
as A Christian should pray for the in-filling
of the Holy Spirit to fill the shape of of his soul, as the Christians soul is "married", Romans 7:1-4,
and joined to the Lord Jesus Christ (he that
is joined to the Lord is one spirit (
1 Cor 6:17
)).
There are soul and flesh (physical) counterparts, such as Brain/Mind and the Soul(spiritual)
Heart/Physical Heart. The Christians fleshly BODY (the Old Man, where "dwelleth no good thing" Rom 7:18") has a BRAIN and BODILY
FEELINGS that think and feel and are easily confused with our circumcised separated SOUL (the New Man) which has the mind of Christ.
The flesh body also has THE CARNAL MIND (Romans 8 ) having enmity against God, and this CARNAL MIND is where the devils (demons)
operate. It is here that they use Mind Control. A thought can be produced by three sources: 1) I, myself (the real me) - our Soul.
2) The Holy Spirit, or 3) evil spirits (in our CARNAL MIND). So Chistians must "try the spirits", and see if the line up with the
Scriptures.
Here is an example: the
physical heart in the flesh body, and the heart of your soul. Both can generate emotions that WE feel.
A hard heart blocks understanding and "your treasure is where your heart is", and with the heart we believe. When we ask Jesus to
come into our heart the Holy spirit comes in and joins to our spirit and the heart of our soul, and we know He does not go into the physical heart, as it is flesh and evils spirits reside in the flesh,
and have an abode in the physical heart (as well as every other body part as well as the BRAIN), "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good
thing" Rom 7:18.
The soul and the fleshly body superimpose one over another (the soul has a bodily shape, like a ghost - all THREE being parts have a bodily shape!) and inhabit the same space. The Soul is the "real you".
All three parts of our tripartite being, or vessel, overlap in the same space. Since we can only have one thought at only given time, the thought came come from any one of these three parts,
and we have the choice of whether to "adopt" the thought or not. After the new birth, the soul is cut from the fleshly body, but joined to the Holy Spirit of God, so we can henceforth
"put on the mind of Christ" so the Holy Spirit (now part of our spirit and wed to our soul),
can provide thoughts. The Carnal Mind, which is located in the body (flesh) provides thoughts from the brain and evil spirits. We need to check the source of our thoughts.
Generally there is difficulty, of various degrees, in manifesting our soul through to our flesh, due to the opposition of the Carnal Mind, and various possible physical damage in the brain and flesh.
Technically how spiritual circumcision is defined by the Bible is what we need to learn. Our Souls gets saved, but our
bodies (flesh) are reckoned dead. Romans chapter
7:24
"...who shall deliver me from the BODY of this death?".
Thank God we are in the
Church age now, and for a saved person the Bible is clear about where the cut is: between the Spirit/Soul and Flesh and hence
devils can only inhabit the flesh. 1st John fits this teaching with the soul not sinning, but the flesh does (also Romans chapter 7).
Thus, the Soul is indeed saved - for salvation and eternal security, but since we walk in the flesh, we will reap what we sow in
the flesh, with the exception of confessing sins and casting the devils out.
Being in the search for absolute truth, ultimately you should research and compare scripture with scripture, for
the Holy Spirit, the author of the scriptures, to reveal this and other truths to you, as this doctrine is very important to
study.
Thanks be to God that He gives us a new glorified body at the rapture!
